Founding Story and Mission

The story of RISE Comedy begins with its roots as Voodoo Comedy Playhouse, which burst onto the Denver comedy scene in 2011. The transformation into RISE Comedy came in 2019, spearheaded by industry professionals who envisioned a more inclusive and vibrant community space. The co-founders, drawn by their passion for Denver and its creative spirit, saw an opportunity to revitalize the local comedy landscape.

They aimed to remedy the fragmented nature of Denver’s comedy scene, previously marred by less inclusive leadership. Their mission: is to establish a venue that champions safe, inclusive, and wildly fun comedy experiences for everyone. RISE Comedy is not just about laughs; it’s a place where performers and patrons alike are encouraged to embrace the art of comedy as a tool for personal growth and community connection.
