A Note From the Founder
We got a chance to talk with Live Out Proud’s Founder Kirk Barnett. When asked why a queer men’s event for LOP’s first-ever event he responded that
‘As a queer man, I didn’t have a lot of resources to help me with what seemed like insurmountable problems. As I started finding solutions in my community, I realized that the community itself was of huge help… Creating a queer men’s event just made sense to me as a queer man, I had the connections, I had the vision. We would like to put on similar events for our other queer siblings in the future. This seemed like the most natural starting place.’
