“The path as a transgender health care provider is a struggle at times. I have met with congressional individuals and get misgendered. Most organizations from small to large have not had enough diversity and equity training and it shows from local to national level. There is very little help out there for the transgender small business owner. If it was not for Human Right Campaign and Showtime Television and their incredible help from the Queer To Stay award, my organization may not be here. It is unfortunate that, I as a transwoman had to turn to the HRC for support when my government did not appear to care.”
