OutAthletics: Fun, Fitness, Comraderie

Hot Girl Summer isn’t over yet! Work out with your gay out! 720Athletics is hosting an Out Athletics Workout this Sunday in Denver. OutAthletics is a national non-profit whose goal in life is:

OUR MISSION
The OUT Foundation’s mission is to remove the barriers that block LGBTQ+ individuals’ access and participation in fitness, health and wellness, ensuring their success.
We are dedicated to nurturing, empowering, and celebrating LGBTQ+ bodies and minds, guaranteeing our community thrives.

They go around the nation and host events that raise funds for various other nonprofits, all aimed at helping the LGBT community. I went to a few events around the Denver area before Covid and it was always a blast. Inclusion, safety, fun, and pride are huge staples in their event programming. There wasn’t pressure to do anything out of anyone’s comfort zone and I made some friends I still stay in contact with.  It costs only $30 dollars and goes for an hour and a half (10am to 1130am).

Whether you are novice or competition level you are guaranteed to have a great workout. With an out time at 1130, there’s still time for brunch! I really enjoy getting to do some random programming while meeting other athletes. Before attending this event I had never seen a drag queen deadlift in heels with my own eyeballs! They hint on the website that there might be a pride attire competition, so don’t be afraid of flair! Registration is quick and spam-free. There are still spaces open so get yours quickly. I hope to see you there!
